Answers for Prototyping and Production

Frequently Asked Questions

To help shed some light on our services, here are answers to common questions about prototyping, low-volume manufacturing, tooling and quality assurance.

Common Questions

How do I get a manufacturing quote?

Sendot Technology provides pricing and lead-time support for custom parts based on your drawings, samples or technical requirements.
1. Upload one or more CAD files on our Get a Quote page.
2. Send project details to postmaster@sendottech.com.
Our team will review manufacturability and respond as soon as possible.

Who is responsible for my project?

Each project is assigned a technical sales manager and a lead project engineer, who stay with the project from launch to delivery.

What file types do you support for instant quotes?

For quoting, Sendot Technology can review 3D CAD files such as STEP, IGES, X_T or STL. 2D drawings in DWG and PDF help confirm dimensions, tolerances and technical requirements.

How do I know my design will be kept confidential?

Sendot Technology keeps customer information confidential and uses project files only for quotation, manufacturability review and production communication. If needed, an NDA can be arranged before work starts.

What is your MOQ (minimum order quantity)?

Sendot Technology supports prototype development, sample production, small-batch production and mass production depending on project needs.

What are Sendot Technology’s shipping terms?

Standard terms are Ex Works (EXW) for rapid prototyping and regular production orders. DAP by DHL Express is also available, and customers can use their own DHL, FedEx or UPS accounts if needed.

How much import duty will I need to pay for my goods?

Import duties vary by country and product classification. In the USA, prototypes used exclusively for development, testing, product evaluation or quality control may qualify for duty-free import under HTS 9817.85.01.

How quickly can I get my parts?

Lead time depends on process, part size, quantity and finishing. Quality prototype parts can often be made in 3-9 days, while rapid injection molding may take 2-5 weeks.

How can I pay Sendot Technology?

Payment methods are confirmed during quotation and order communication based on project requirements.

Can my company get credit with Sendot Technology?

New rapid prototyping customers normally pay in advance. Thirty-day credit may be considered after a period of cooperation and depending on order volume.

General Manufacturing

What types of manufacturing processes can you offer?

CNC machining, urethane casting, 3D printing, injection molding, sheet metal and finishing services.

Can Sendot Technology make design drawings for me?

Customers are responsible for supplying drawings, samples or technical requirements. Sendot Technology can then provide manufacturing feedback for custom production.

What type of post finishes does Sendot Technology provide?

In-house finishing covers assembling, form fitting, fastening, metal inserts, sanding, polishing, blasting, brushing, painting and printing, plus specialty surface treatments such as anodizing, electroplating, chroming, chemical finishing and powder coating.

What are the advantages if choosing CNC to make my parts?

CNC supports almost all engineering plastics and metals, keeps prototype and production materials aligned, and delivers strong dimensional stability, repeatability and surface finish.

Can Sendot Technology produce high precision parts?

Sendot Technology supports precision manufacturing for custom non-standard metal parts, including CNC machining and lathe parts for simple or complex components.

What tolerances can Sendot Technology’s CNC machining achieve?

General tolerance is ISO 2768 medium for machined plastic and ISO 2768 fine for machined metals. Typical CNC tolerance can range from ±0.125 mm to ±0.05 mm depending on geometry and material.

What is the maximum part size can you machining?

Maximum part size is about 1200 × 800 × 600 mm, with split manufacturing considered when necessary.

How many parts can I get from one silicon mold?

Vacuum casting typically yields around 12-15 parts per silicone mold before noticeable degradation.

What material you use for vacuum casting?

Urethane resins are used to simulate common production plastics such as ABS, PMMA, PC, PP and PA, including transparent, translucent, colored, soft and hard options.

What is the maximum part size can vacuum casting?

The vacuum casting equipment can hold mold sizes up to 2.0 m × 1.2 m × 1.0 m.

What tolerances can Sendot Technology hold?

Standard tolerance is about ±0.15 mm per 100 mm, with the best cases reaching ±0.05 mm.

Can urethane parts be used as final products for end users?

Yes. Urethane parts are often used as bridge tooling output, short-run production parts and end-use components, especially for specialized products such as medical devices.

How many shots does a rapid injection mold last?

Depending on mold material and part structure, a rapid mold can usually support several thousand shots, which suits bridge production and small series runs.

What affects the cost of mold making or custom production?

Cost depends on part geometry, material, tolerance, process, surface finish, quantity and mold or fixture requirements.

How fast can I get molded parts from rapid injection tool?

Rapid injection molding usually takes 2-5 weeks, with more complex parts or special features taking longer.

Can you support repeat production orders?

Repeat production support can be discussed during project follow-up based on mold, fixture, material and order requirements.

Quality Assurance

Do you have any quality certifications?

Sendot Technology follows strict quality control for precision and consistency. Specific quality documentation can be discussed based on project requirements.

How does Sendot Technology ensure the quality of my parts?

Sendot Technology reviews drawings, materials, process planning and manufacturability before production. Inspection and quality follow-up are arranged according to part requirements.

Can Sendot Technology provide inspection reports?

Inspection reports can be discussed and arranged according to project requirements.

Do you offer OQC reports such as material certs?

Yes. OQC reports are available on request, including material certificates, inspection reports and certificates of conformance when requested upfront.

What is your sampling plan?

The statistical sampling plan is based on MIL-STD-105E with zero rejects.
